A multi-agency operation is ongoing this morning and has rounded up about 60 Chinese harvesters – we have present police, immigration, Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority, Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, port health and Fareham Borough Council – currently processing everyone to establish if any offences have been committed. We take this matter extremely seriously.
Delighted to meet Kerry Snuggs and the Acts Of Kindness Community (Solent) team at the Fareham food bank today. Since I drove some 20 tonnes of food there just 2 months ago using a lorry kindly provided by Solent Stars they have delivered literally thousands of parcels of food and other essentials across the Fareham Borough Council area with the help of some 200 volunteers.
The people and organisations of Fareham have been very generous in their support for our less fortunate residents and I was pleased to be able to make my own small contribution today to their stock. Thank you to Kerry and your team for all that you have done and continue to do at this difficult time for our residents. Keep safe.
Lovely visit to one of the most beautiful parts of Sarisbury Ward today. Amazing what an industrial landscape can become when nature takes over. A great support from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust who have worked with the council for many years ever since Fareham Borough Council negotiated the original agreement with NATS
Well worth a visit especially as social distancing is easy in such a vast area.
