Very well attended Fareham Borough Council Community Action Team meeting at Fareham’s Ferneham Hall

Nearly 200 residents to discuss Fareham StreetAid and its multi-agency work to help rough sleepers live off the streets.

Thanks to Cllr Tom Davies – In Touch with Fareham East & Wallington for chairing and Trevor Cartwright for explaining donor card so people can give money to homeless charities to help. Also to Chief Inspector Mark Lewis for joining me for questions from residents.

The Council will shortly be recruiting security patrols accredited by Chief Constable and Council to help stop begging, drug and alcohol abuse and anti-social behaviour in the town centre.

The Fareham Community Showcase at Ferneham Hall

T

The Fareham Community Showcase at Ferneham Hall today was a great success in helping to interest potential new volunteers for a large number of community groups. Thanks to One Community for organising this on behalf of Fareham Borough Council.

As well as meeting the amazing volunteers on many stands including Friends of Fareham Community Hospital, Fareham Parkinson’s UK and Fareham CAB I was also delighted to meet Siphon the python.

British Heart Foundation HeartStart defibrillator training

Delighted to attend British Heart Foundation HeartStart defibrillator training today at Sarisbury CofE Controlled Junior School.

Supported by the Alex Wardle Foundation the school now has a defibrillator on site accessible to the community. Defibrillator use within a few minutes of a heart attack increases the possibility of saving a life.
