The public vote for the new gate guardian to be erected at Solent Airport@Daedalus
I was delighted to be able to announce to the Council last night that the public vote for the new gate guardian to be erected at Solent Airport@Daedalus is Daedalus himself.
The sculpture will be in place next year subject to confirmation by the Council Executive in September and is fully funded to the tune of £100,000 by National Grid as a part of their legal obligations following the grant of planning consent for the interconnector.
Thousands of people took part in the vote at a number of events including D-Day 75 at Daedalus. At the same time children voted for the equipment for the new aviation-themed playground at Daedalus Common which will be installed early next year.
